Enrolment
How do I enrol my child?
You can begin the enrolment process by completing our online enquiry form or contacting our centre directly. Our team will guide you through availability, waitlists, and the enrolment paperwork.
Do you have a waitlist?
At times, we have a waitlist for certain age groups. We recommend joining the waitlist as early as possible to secure a place.
What age groups do you accept?
We welcome children from 6 weeks through to 5 years (school age). Please contact us to confirm availability for your child’s age group.
Can I tour the centre before enrolling?
Absolutely. We encourage families to visit the centre, meet our educators, and see our learning environment. Tours run each day at 11:00am and can be booked by contacting us.

Hours & Attendance
What are your operating hours?
Butterflies Childcare & Early Learning Centre is open Monday to Friday between the hours of 6.30am and 6.30pm 52 weeks per year. We are closed on all public holidays.
Do you offer part-time and full-time care?
Yes, we offer flexible enrolment options including full-time and part-time care depending on availability. There is also opportunities for casual days if the child has a regular booking with us.
Fees & Subsidies
What are the childcare fees?
Fees vary depending on your child’s age group and the number of days enrolled. Please contact us for our current fee schedule.
Is the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) available?
Yes, families may be eligible for the Australian Government Child Care Subsidy (CCS), which can significantly reduce childcare fees. We can assist you in understanding how this applies to your enrolment.
Are there any additional costs?
We do not charge any additional fees for incursions, excursions or nappies/wipes. Everything is included in the daily fee.
Learning & Curriculum
How do you prepare children for school?
Our kindergarten program focuses on building independence, confidence, communication skills, and early literacy and numeracy to support a smooth transition to school. We welcome prep teachers to visit our service (with written permission from parents) to observe children in the program and assist with planning their transition to school.
How will I know how my child is progressing?
We regularly share updates with families through observations, learning stories, and progress discussions with educators. We hold Parent Teacher Interviews during the year, as well as Learning and Development Meetings where required.
Staff & Safety
Are your educators qualified?
Yes. Our educators hold recognised early childhood qualifications (Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, or Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. Educators participate in ongoing professional development, including Mandatory Reporting and Child Safety Training. Educators have First Aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis training.
What are your educator-to-child ratios?
For children under 3 years of age, the ratio is one educator to four children. For children aged 3 and above, the ratio is one educator to 11 children.
Health & Wellbeing
What happens if my child becomes sick at the centre?
If a child becomes unwell, we will contact parents or guardians to arrange prompt collection.
How do you manage allergies or medical conditions?
We work closely with families to create individual health management plans and ensure educators are aware of any medical needs.
Communication With Families
How will I receive updates about my child’s day?
We communicate with families through daily updates on Storypark, conversations at pick-up time, and digital communication platforms where available.
Can I speak with educators about my child’s development?
Absolutely. We encourage open communication and are always happy to discuss your child’s progress and wellbeing. We encourage you to book in a time to meet with your child’s educator or teacher so that matters can be discussed in a private manner and discussions do not impede on times when educators are required in ratio.
What do I need to bring each day?
Each day your child attends Butterflies Childcare & Early Learning Centre, it is most important that they have a bag containing the following:
• At least two full changes of clothes - including underwear.
• If your child is toilet training please ensure you supply several changes of clothes.
• Please bring a named sunsmart hat (summer) and named beanie (winter) for your child upon enrolment to leave at the centre for outdoor play.
• Comfort items eg. Dummy, blanket, teddy.
• Bottle, formula in formula container (babies)
• Nappy cream to leave at the centre
Please ensure that your child’s name is clearly marked on each item. Please dress your child in play clothes that can become a little dirty, and that enable uninhibited play and that can be easily managed by them.
