Our Family-Owned Story
We are a small, family owned organisation dedicated to providing exceptional early childhood education and care in this beautiful community of Doreen. Founded and operated by a husband and wife team alongside their four children, ours services were born from a shared dream - to create warm, welcoming environments where children feel safe, supported and inspired to learn.
Our journey began in November 2011 with the opening of our first service located on Orchard Road in Doreen. Since then we have proudly supported families from Doreen, Mernda, Yarrambat, Whittlesea, Diamond creek, Wollert, Donnybrook and surrounding communities. We offer a nurturing 'second home' for children during their early years.
Our second service, located on Mulwala Drive in Doreen shared the same values, high standards and family-centred approach. It has quickly become a thriving centre of learning and care, continuing our commitment to excellence in early childhood education. At the heart of everything we do is a passion for providing high quality care in a home-like setting, where children feel loved, families feel welcome and lifelong learning begins.

Reconciliation Action Plan
Butterflies Childcare & Early Learning Centre was formed on the lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the Traditional Custodians of this country and their deep connection to the land, water, and community in which we operate. We pay our respect to Elders past, present, and emerging, and are committed to embedding this respect into our everyday practice and culture.

We are committed to building and maintaining a child safe culture through robust policies, ongoing staff training, and continuous improvement of our practices. Rebecca
Operations Manager at Orchard Road & Mulwala Drive
Hi, I’m Rebecca, and I have been part of this service for over 14 years. I’m proud to be part of the family that owns and operates our organisation, which means I have a personal commitment to making sure high-quality practices are reflected in everything our educators do.
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management on top of a Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care, and I am truly passionate about creating a safe, nurturing environment for all children, supporting engaged and passionate teams, and helping the service continue to grow while staying true to the values it was founded on.
As a Doreen local and mum to two teenagers, I value community, relationships, and the trust families place in us every day.
Jessica
Marketing and Community Engagement Manager
Hi, I’m Jess, and I have been part of Butterflies for 14 years. Like Rebecca, I am one of the owners’ daughters, which gives me a strong personal connection to the values and vision behind everything we do. That connection drives my commitment to ensuring high-quality practices, strong relationships, and meaningful communication across our centres and with the wider community.
In my role as Marketing and Community Engagement Manager, I work closely with families, educators, and the community to share who we are, what we stand for, and the care that goes into everything we do. I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care and an Advanced Diploma in Event Management, which helps me combine my understanding of early learning with thoughtful planning and meaningful engagement.
As a mum to two young children, I know how important trust, connection, and confidence are when it comes to your child’s care and education, and I love helping families feel supported every step of the way.
